Howrah Municipal Corporation has heightened vigilance following the collapse of a high-rise building in Gardenreach. In response, demolition commenced on the illegal section of a multi-storey house at 28 Kali Banerjee Lane in Central Howrah on Monday. This action comes after previous demolitions of unauthorized portions of the building, which had been constructed and sold in violation of regulations. Upon receiving the news, Howrah Municipal Corporation promptly dispatched a team to the site, initiating the demolition process despite protests from affected residents.
Despite the emotional outcry from the occupants, the corporation remained steadfast in executing the demolition according to established regulations.
